As-salaamu ‘alaikum!
I’m sorry I’ve been away from my blog for so long! I wish I had time to write up more things on here (particularly the random conversations I have in my head and then wish I could form some prose with them), but its been really hard being able to sit down on my laptop very often these days. My kiddos are growing, needing more attention, and I’ve been busy getting into a new routine and trying to implement a couple of things to help me to focus more on my spirituality and my deen after the completion of Ramadhan 2012. Which, by the way, I miss SO much. This Ramadhan was one of the most amazing ones I’ve been privileged enough to experience, for so many reasons.
Today was an unplanned lunch date kinda day for me and the Hubster. My iPhone has been acting up lately and so I’d booked in an appointment for what I had THOUGHT was Saturday the 29th. Since the Apple shop tends to get crowded on weekends, I left the kids behind and decided to make a “quick trip” to the shop. It turns out, after I got there, that my appointment was on the 26th. Hey ho! So we took the opportunity to run some errands, shop for some winter kids’ essentials and stop for some coffee. It was nice. Usually we have “date nights” but having a date lunch was definitely a refreshing change, alhamdullilah. I’m glad I was 3 days late for the Apple appointment. Sometimes, a “d’oh!” moment can turn out to be a total blessing!
Anyhoo, so I thought I’d post an ‘outfit of the day’. I don’t think I’ve ever mentioned how much I love pairing hints of yellow with deeper toned colours. Today, I decided to mix up my Autumny brown cardigan with a contrasting yellow vest!
The Hijab is the Brown Maxi Hoojab from Pearl Daisy.

The yellow vest is from H&M. I purchased a large size as it was supposed to be a “fitted” top, and I pulled the vest strings up behind the neck (to create a halter neck type of top). This was necessary because the large size gave rise to a low, large neck, which I wanted to have higher. I loved the fit of this vest. Totally doing this look again with a different colour!
